GOAP's collaborative leadership structure and decision-making processes

Partnership Structure

The Global Ocean Accounts Partnership operates as a multi-stakeholder partnership, bringing together UN agencies, national governments, research institutions, and civil society organizations to advance ocean accounting globally.

GOAP is co-chaired by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan Republik Indonesia), Indonesia and the Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. The Secretariat is hosted at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, which coordinates day-to-day operations and partnership activities.

A Technical Committee composed of leading experts in environmental-economic accounting, marine science, and ocean policy guides the development of methodologies, standards, and technical guidance materials.
