Building capacity in ocean accounting through training, workshops, and community learning
The Global Ocean Accounts Partnership offers a range of learning opportunities to support countries and practitioners implementing ocean accounting. From introductory webinars to advanced technical training, we provide the knowledge and skills needed to develop robust ocean accounts.
Our capacity building approach combines global training programs with regional Communities of Practice, enabling peer-to-peer learning and knowledge exchange tailored to local contexts.
This foundational online course provides a comprehensive introduction to the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) framework and its application to ocean ecosystems. Participants learn core concepts, accounting principles, and practical implementation approaches through self-paced modules and interactive exercises.
In-person and virtual workshops delivered through our six regional Communities of Practice provide hands-on training tailored to regional priorities, data contexts, and policy needs. These workshops facilitate peer learning among countries at similar stages of ocean accounting development.
Monthly webinars featuring GOAP Fellows and international experts cover specialized topics in ocean accounting methodology, data collection approaches, spatial analysis techniques, and policy applications. Sessions include live Q&A and are recorded for on-demand viewing.
