About the Fellowship
GOAP Fellows are recognized experts in ocean accounting who play a vital role in advancing the field globally. They bring deep expertise in ocean accounting, the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA), marine science, and environmental economics.
Our Fellows contribute to the development of technical guidance, lead capacity building initiatives, and share knowledge across the global ocean accounting community. They represent diverse backgrounds from government statistical offices, academic institutions, international organizations, and civil society.
Through their work, GOAP Fellows help countries and regions implement ocean accounting frameworks that support evidence-based policy making for sustainable ocean management.
What Fellows Do
Technical Guidance
Develop methodologies, standards, and best practices for ocean accounting implementation based on SEEA frameworks.
Capacity Building
Lead training workshops, mentoring programs, and technical support to help countries develop ocean accounting capabilities.
Knowledge Sharing
Publish research, case studies, and insights to advance the field and share lessons learned across the community.
Become a Fellow
The GOAP Fellowship is available through nomination or application. We seek individuals who demonstrate:
- Expertise in ocean accounting, SEEA frameworks, marine science, or environmental economics
- Track record of contributing to ocean accounting implementation or research
- Commitment to GOAP's mission of advancing ocean accounting globally
- Willingness to contribute technical expertise and mentor others in the field
Fellows are expected to actively contribute to GOAP activities, whether through technical working groups, capacity building initiatives, publications, or participation in regional Communities of Practice.
