The Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA) Symposium is the premier regional scientific event on the coastal and marine environment. The Symposium showcases insightful and inspiring presentations on the latest research results and key developments in the Western Indian Ocean region.
Ocean accounts
The Africa Community of Practice hosted a side event titled ‘Ocean Accounting to Advance Ocean Sustainable Development and Ocean Governance in the Western Indian Ocean’. See concept note below. The workshop was attended by 25 regional stakeholders, and sparked constructive dialogue amongst participants, as well as encouraged further membership within the region.
